I had been looking among maps and glamour and lifestyle magazines for outdoor images while thinking of camping. I had collected various fashion looks when I found this neon sign. This made a great combination of the outdoors and the glamorous, so she became an electric wood nymph.The dark woods of her environment is lit by a distant moon and a campfire provides warmth through the models of molecules, roses and other growing things.

After the first electric nymph was in the dark woods, I had images of a sandstone canyon and decided she would be a desert nymph. This is not an environment the Greeks assigned any nymphs, but with her lighter color palette, I thought her a good daylight contrast.Her arid environment is created from various natural textures I enhanced with paint and includes luxuries like jewelry and stacks of velvet shoes. Her lines of power started as found images of light trails and lightening, continuing with a zig-zag patterned sweater that I cut into individual stripes and laid end-to-end with more added in paint.
