This was the first nymph, based on a glamorous neon showgirl sign and images of camping. Her nocturnal environment is created from natural textures enhanced with paint and includes scientific ideas, maps and various styles of natural images.
The dark woods of her environment is lit by a distant moon and a campfire provides lines of warmth through the models of molecules and growing things. With her electricity, she lights the forest and energizes the creatures and travelers when they visit.
Electric desert nymph in the daylight canyon. The nymph is a strong guardian of a complex blooming desert environment she fills with energy and power. This was the second nymph, based on a glamorous neon sign showgirl. She is part of a day lit sandstone canyon, not assigned a nymphs by the Greeks, but this sculpted stone habitat would certainly have a guardian. Her arid world is created from various natural textures enhanced with paint and includes luxuries like jewelry and stacks of velvet shoes. Her lines of power include found images of light trails and lightening, its main motion from a zig-zag patterned sweater reduced to individual stripes and paint.
Virtual wetlands nymph. The nymph is a strong guardian of a complex environment she fills with energy and power, here influencing space from her waters. She is the virtual counterpart of a wetlands nymph or in Greek, Eleionomae.
She is the negative space and reflection of a slouchy fashionista. Her environment spans the solar system, collaged from various growing things, such as herbs and their dishes along with other round images, like planets. Bees and birds add their power in her fascinator and wings, with rich fabrics, soft pillows and a luxurious golden city at her toes. Her mystery extends to her text-veiled face.
Nereid rising above the waves. This naiad is a strong guardian of a complex ocean environment she fills with energy and power, partially obscured by her watery world.
She is a fashionista with fabulous boots and jacket in a great slouchy style. The water obscures and becomes her outfit and echoes of her boots can be seen in various spots as her power expands through her realm. She is surrounded by her collaged and painted environment with her associates, humanlike and fish, rising over the coral and waves, all composed of images collected and painted to create her stylized, dreamlike realm.

This redwood tree nymph is losing hope in the face of threats to her tree and forest, sensing similarities across the world, as degradation reduces the ability of trees to shelter valuable ecosystems and mitigate warming.

The desert nymph is becoming angry at the poor treatment and degradation of her environment she has seen in the inadequate response to readily apparent environmental changes. The nymph is drawn, with her environment based on my own painted photograph of the Anza Borrego desert. James River naiad through the Manchester Bridge. This nymph is a strong guardian of a complex river environment she fills with energy and power. The James river naiad views the often disturbing history around the river in this former capitol of the Confederacy. The nymph is painted and designed to blur background and foreground into a dreamlike state, adding the the surrealness of the double exposure with digital drawing.
Imported forest nymph in Yorktown. This nymph is a strong guardian of a complex forest environment she fills with energy and power. This forest nymph was taken from distant lands and brought to Yorktown, paralleling the many slaves imported and still enslaved when the colonies were liberated from Britain, with only a few who directly fought with the colonists freed during the American revolution.

Tempestas bringing the storm. The goddess of storms, Tempestas, has the most extreme power of the environment at her disposal and can bring quiet skies or towering clouds, rain, wind and lightening. Here, the landscape blurs as she sweeps in a storm. This goddess is drawn and her environment is my own photograph on tissue with paint, layered over the shiny trash of candy wrappers. She is painted into the storm with her own ethereal fish accompanying her as they cannon in over candy wrapper lines of power.
Naiads at Mt Vernon. The Anacostia River and Potomac River naiads are a strong guardians of a complex water environment they fill with energy and power. They pose as influencers at Mount Vernon, wearing crowns of native pinkster flowers and mussels and bringing portions of their environments to sustain themselves.
This nymph's dreamlike environment is based on my own photograph, a double exposure of wetlands at the mouth of the York River and Mount Vernon with the the naiads painted and layered under mussel-bed patterns at different magnifications and maps of Mount Vernon and Washington DC.
